8 years to the day.
8 years since our leap of faith, transcending comfort zones and leaving everything familiar, discarding limiting beliefs and misconceptions, saying goodbye to everything we knew and loved .
8 years of maps, visas, repatriation , suitcases, and permits.
8 years of faith, childlike wonder, gratitude, courage and resilience.
8 years of surprises, extraordinary sunrises, missed flights, miracles and opportunities.
Most days, it feels like just yesterday that we packed up all we owned; that there is so much more to explore and discover and see and do and feel!
And then there are days when this lifestyle feels like forever: As though I’m waiting for a new cycle, wishing away pangs of homesickness, waiting for a new season to arrive.
8 years to the day.
And I wouldn’t change a thing – even if I could. A reason for every season.
And I’m filled with a deep sense of gratitude, blessed enough to experience this adventure called Life, with my better half.
What a journey its been! And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Alhumdulillah.
