11 Sep Slowing Down To Breathe
May you never overlook the mercy in slowing down to breathe – a mercy gifted by the One who fashioned your soul and knows its every whisper.
May you never forget how far you’ve come in learning to surrender, to exhale the burdens you carry, and to trust that Allah sees your striving even when it feels quiet or unseen.
It’s easy to focus on what still needs healing, what still feels unfinished. But may today be a day of remembrance: you are not starting from nothing. You’ve been practicing sabr (patience), tawakkul (trust), and sakinah (tranquility) with every breath. And each time you pause, you are returning to the fitrah, the pure state your heart was created in.
Think of peace as a river flowing through the forest of your life—sometimes rushing, sometimes still.
Even if you lose sight of the path, you are never lost to Allah. You are always free to pause, to make dhikr, to realign. Some days will feel harder than others, but you are not failing if it takes time. You are simply human, and Allah is Al-Latif the Most Gentle.
So breathe, beloved soul.
Breathe with intention.
Breathe with remembrance.
Breathe with hope.
Inhale: Ya Rahman.
Exhale: Ya Salam.
Inhale: Hasbunallahu wa ni‘mal wakeel.
Exhale: My Lord is near.
